Different types of pastels including hard, soft, oil, irridescent and pencil are shown and their properties explained, then the artist demonstrates her method in drawings of a landscape, a puppy, still lifes, and tropical fish. She also shows how to combine oil pastels with turpentine for opaque drawings and how soft pastels are used on velour paper for textural drawings.
